Watercolors – I started watercolors by chance in high school. I needed a fun backdrop for my aquarium. I chose Roger Dean’s work Relayer. I was proud to meet Roger in 2019 and share this with him. From there, my parents challenged me to reproduce a piece in their collection by Jean Simons, a well known NC artist who lived in Elon College (my home town). Using the same elementary school dry watercolor cakes I created a surprisingly decent copy of her work. Later while attending Elon College I needed an arts class to fill a requirement. I learned a lot about watercolors and painting from Ed Daniel that semester.
